David Fincher’s Mindhunter Put on Hold Indefinitely
David Fincher’s Netflix series Mindhunter is a slow-burn psychological thriller that centers an FBI task force interviewing serial killers to get a better understanding of their motivations and to hopefully solve ongoing investigations.
It is an incredible series, which as a lot of fans, so I hate to be the one to give you the bad news, but the series has been put on hold indefinitely and the cast members Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv have been released from their contracts.
It’s important to understand that the series has NOT been canceled. It’s just that Fincher is busy working on his other projects, and this is the one he decided to put on hold for the time being. A Netflix rep told TV Line:
“David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots. He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”
I’m personally going to be very devastated if Fincher decides not to continue the series, there is still hope that it will continue. We’ll just have to wait longer. #FingersCrossed
