Jodie Whittaker Leaving Doctor Who After Next Season?

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Jodie Whittaker might be leaving the BBC’s classic sci-fi series Doctor Who. According to the report, the actress told the “bosses she intends to stick to the traditional rule of leaving after three stints in the TARDIS, like the majority of her predecessors.” An insider said:

“It’s all very hush-hush but it is known on set that Jodie is leaving and they are gearing up for a regeneration. Her departure is top secret but at some point over the coming months the arrival of the 14th Doctor will need to be filmed. It’s very exciting.”

Whitiker is the 13th Doctor in the series and the first woman to play the character. She’s been great in the role, and it would be sad to see her go, but wouldn’t really be out of the ordinary, and is something we knew would eventually come.
